Bhangra Group Dance | Sat Sri Akal
Sat Sri Akal – Bhangra, performed to the Urban Kinng 2017 Punjabi pop ‘Sat Sri Akal’ by G. Sidhu. This dance cover of the Punjabi pop number by IndianRaga celebrates the traditional aspects of Bhangra, rural folk dance that represents the culture and identity of Punjab…..the energetic music, the vigorous yet gracefully synchronised dance movements, the colourful costumes….. This fast-paced dance was conceptualised by Sonali Loomba and choreographed by Kirthana Bhat. It begins with the four main dancers coming in with relatively demure movements, then quickly moves into the full-fledged pace and intensity of Bhangra. Like a flash mob, more dancers join in. Sat Sri Akal – Bhangra, performed by Kirthana Bhat, Samyukta Hari, Sonali Loomba, Makheer Singh, Mithil Chakraborty, Smrithi Suresh, Isha Parupudi, Shivani Badgi and Jeevika Bhat.
The dancers rejoice in the vibrancy of traditional Bhangra dance to celebrate the festival of Lohri that marks the end of winter and welcomes longer days. On the auspicious occasion of Lohri …….it’s the sheer joy of Bhangra!
